Richard:
I have a 2000 Lincoln LS V8....In the past few months, every time I backup and start forward and there is any slipping of the tires, such as the snow
or on gravel, a message appears to check Traction Control..Then the radio
goes off, the windows want work and finally the car dies. I can have it
jumped off and it will be fine until the next time this scenario
happens..Can I turn Traction Control off or will this cause any damage?

The Traction Control isn't causing that - believe it or not, you have a bad ignition coil - somebody just has to find out which one it is (You have several).
Let me know what happens.

You are the best!! I have replaced two ignition coils and my mechanic (?) told me I would need to replace the others soon. He was not able to detect the problem with this. Can't wait to tell him. I bet this has been the problem all along. Thanks so much.

Glad to help
