Question about '93 Mercury Sable 6 cyl. question: Tranny (automatic) was bad and after towing it to the shop, it froze into park. After the guys disconnected it and replaced the tranny which ran great once, it froze in park again. We are all stumped. Can you give us an idea of where to look for the trouble? Could it be a gear shift in the steering column? Or worse? As if that isn't bad enough. And how tough is it to fix? Engine is half rebuild already-thats in great shape.

Fix the wires at the stop light switch.. that's probably the trouble.

You were right on target with this one. $10 part to reconnect the wires and it runs and drives like brand new. Shifts without any problems. Thank you so much!
