I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT, the engine size is 2.0L and my input/output speed sensor is bad. I had been having issues with my car's speed for a while so I got a diagnostic test at AAMCO and they gave me a printout stating that is the problem. I really don't want to pay them $300 to fix it and I figure if they can do it, I can get some of my friends who are mechanics to fix it too. How do we go about changing the speed sensor? Can you provide me with step by step instructions on how it's done? Also, can you provide me with pictures of the correct speed sensors so I can be sure I have the right one in mind? Thank you very much. This is greatly appreciated!

It's actually pretty easy... you could just about do it yourself.
Here are the instructions - see attachment.
Let me know what happens.

Richard,
Thanks again for giving me the instructions on how to change the speed sensors in my car. My fiance and I did it over the weekend in about 30 minutes. I'm amazed at how the shop was going to charge me $300 for that and the parts only cost me about $30. Thank you so much! I was able to get my car's state inspection today and it passed! I honestly can't thank you enough for your help, it was very much appreciated.
